Such an awesome time! The greatest thing about playing on the 311 Cruise is the people. True music fans that don’t mind hearing some players jam out. Awesome video from a great bass player Blyss on getting gigs. I agree with almost everything he says. If your not playing take any gig. Gigs can lead to playing other gigs. Don’t wait around for that Primus or RHCP band to call you. The band I’m working with now I met the leader 8 years ago playing a different gig, and in the past 3 years I have played 100’s of gigs with him. People need good bass players so start saying yes to gigs. The one thing I think he left out is become good at booking. If you can be the band leader than you can create work for yourself and not have to wait for others. Any musicians love someone who can create work.
